Anthony passed away on April 9th at Reading Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. Though his time with us was tragically short, his impact was profound, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Anthony was born and raised in Reading, Pennsylvania, the cherished son of Donna (Kobige) Martin and the late Melvin L. Martin Sr. From his earliest days, Anthony displayed a vibrant, bold spirit—one that would carry him through life as a loyal friend, a hard-working man, a loving partner, and most importantly, a devoted father.
A proud graduate of Reading High School, Anthony was known for his athletic ability and dedication on the wrestling team. His strength and determination, honed on the mat, translated into every area of his life. He carried himself with quiet confidence, backed by a work ethic that made him respected by peers, colleagues, and family alike.
Professionally, Anthony was a skilled crane operator at Car Tech in Reading, and he previously worked through the Roofers Union Local #30. He was deeply committed to his craft, taking pride in every job and earning the trust of his coworkers through consistent effort and reliability. Whether on the job site or at home, Anthony believed in showing up, putting in the work, and doing it right the first time. He understood the dignity of labor and found meaning in building something tangible—something lasting.
Beyond his dedication to work, Anthony’s greatest passion and purpose in life was his family, particularly his two beloved sons, Andre and Roman. Being a father brought him unmatched joy. He was never happier than when he was with his boys—playing, laughing, guiding them, or just soaking in the simple moments. He was not only a provider but a true presence in their lives: one filled with love, protection, and boundless pride.
Anthony shared his life and love with his fiancée, Breanne Hepner, with whom he built a beautiful life filled with shared dreams, mutual support, and unwavering devotion. Their bond was strong and enduring—a partnership rooted in friendship, laughter, and love. Together, they navigated life’s challenges, celebrated its joys, and built a home grounded in compassion and care.
Known for his distinctive sense of humor, Anthony brought light to every room he entered. He had a way of making people laugh—truly laugh—with a wit that was quick, clever, and contagious. His family will always remember his unique, joyful laugh, a sound that instantly lifted spirits and reminded those around him not to take life too seriously.
Anthony was also a man of passions. A proud motorcycle enthusiast, he found freedom and peace on the open road. His bikes weren’t just machines—they were expressions of his individuality and freedom, his way of connecting with the world and feeling most alive. His love for riding wasn’t about speed, but the soul-lifting escape of a road with no limits and no destination.
In his downtime, Anthony enjoyed hitting the gym, always striving to better himself, physically and mentally. He believed in strength—not just of body, but of character. And like many, he found comfort and joy in video games, where he could unwind, challenge himself, and connect with friends.
Anthony’s life was one of loyalty, passion, resilience, and above all, love. He was the kind of man who would drop everything to help someone in need. He showed up for family, cheered the loudest at games and gatherings, and listened without judgment. He didn’t just occupy space—he filled it, with laughter, strength, and unwavering loyalty.
He leaves behind a loving, proud, and heartbroken family: his mother Donna Martin, fiancée Breanne, and sons Andre and Roman, who will grow up knowing that their father was a man of integrity and love. Anthony is also survived by a large and devoted family of siblings: Adara Adams, Felicia Caraballo, Melvin L. Martin Jr., Bernadette Nelson, Vanessa Martin, Tracey Rolon, Darnell Martin, Derek Martin, and Erika Martin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Each of his siblings carries their own stories of Anthony: the brother who could be fiercely protective, playfully teasing, or endlessly supportive. He was their rock in storms, their reason to laugh, and a constant reminder of what it means to love with your whole heart.
Anthony’s family invites all who knew and loved him to gather in remembrance and celebration of his life on Friday, April 18th, at Henninger Funeral Home, Inc., 229 N. 5th Street, Reading, PA 19601. A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 PM, with a funeral service beginning at 7 PM. Together, we will honor a life that touched so many, cut short far too soon, but lived fully and with meaning.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions be made in Anthony’s memory to support the future of his two sons, Andre and Roman. Donations will directly benefit their education, well-being, and support the dreams Anthony held for them so dearly.
